Bio
Oliver Weber (*1974)
began studying musicology at the University of Zurich, as well as organ with Janine Lehmann and private composition lessons with Rudolf Kelterborn in Basel. He then studied instrumental and electro-acoustic composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna with Michael Jarrell, Dieter Kaufmann and Wolfgang Mitterer. Since 2004 he has performed regularly as an interpreter of his own and others' electronic works and as an improviser in Austria and abroad: Wien Modern, SICMF South Korea, New Music Week Shanghai, elektronischer Frühling Wien, Grabenfesttage Wien, Kulturfestival Origen, Ensemble Nikel, Ensemble Phace, SEV, and many more. Multiple work and artistic contributions from the Aargau Board of Trustees, Theodor Körner Prize, state scholarships for composition from the Republic of Austria, several working scholarships from BUKK Austria, among others. 2006 participation in the International Young Composers Forum Tactus in Brussels. 2013 Artist in Residence at the ICST Zurich. Oliver Weber lives and works in Vienna.
